As a Sea Scout group, water-based activities are central to our program. From learning to sail in a dinghy to completing RYA powerboat certification, our proximity to Port Phillip Bay gives us opportunities that most Scout groups can only dream of. Sailing courses are offered to Scouts, Venturers and Rovers throughout the year.
Our Venturers are active participants in local environmental and conservation projects.
Our Venturer Unit takes an active role in environmental and conservation projects in the local area. These projects give young people aged 14–17 the opportunity to contribute to real-world outcomes for their community and natural environment.
Environmental involvement is a core part of the Venturer program — it develops leadership, scientific thinking, and a lifelong connection to the natural world.
For Venturers, environmental projects satisfy multiple Special Interest Area requirements (Environment, STEM, Creating a Better World) and contribute towards the Queen's Scout Award.
